Context:
Oreste Plath (César Müller pseudonym) was a famous Chilean writer and folklorist who assumed the post of director of MAPA from 1968 to 1973. He aimed to increase the number of exhibitions in and out of the museum, carrying out itinerant exhibitions, talks, and activities to draw kids and young people mainly. In the same way, he is renowned for increasing the understanding of folk art and making the Argentinian, Cuban, Bolivian, and Chilean collections grow, producing publications, among other contributions.
