Photograph in square format. In a close-up, on the right side, Tomás Lago’s student from her side. Her lengthy hair, white shirt, and a satchel over her left shoulder characterize her. At the back, there’s a rural open space where it is possible to identify two students sitting in a waiting attitude.
Context:
The image is part of a Folk Art field trip to Chillán carried out by Tomás Lago in 1956. Specifically to Quinchamalí, to apply a survey to the potters in the area because of the lack of a bibliography and unfinished research about folk ceramics. For this reason, Tomás Lago carried out a study published in the Art magazine of the Bellas Artes school of the Universidad de Chile, titled Cerámicas de Quinchamalí (Quinchamalí Ceramics) in 1958.
