Photograph in square format. In a big long shot, four men are dressed in formal suits, three wearing hats, participating in the fair to commemorate Santa Rosa of Pelequén. In detail, one of these men is smiling and trying wooden stirrups.

Context:

The commemoration of the Santa Rosa of Pelequén shrine is a celebration made every August 30th from 1897 up to the present. This religious event of popular origin gathers thousands of devotees who come to pay their vows or grant their indulgences to this saint. As a member of the museum and before it, Oreste Plath made trips to different towns, Pelequén among them. His aim to bind religion and folklore together made him research popular trading, religious images on giant curtains, prayings, pottery (basket-making, ceramics, among others), games, songs, fun facts about the environment, objects such as religious vows, devotees’ origin and vows to the saint.
