Description:

Photograph in rectangular format and horizontal layout. In a medium shot, on one side, Filemón Gonzalez, an artisan, is in his workshop wrecking a big wooden iron.

Context:

Due to the move made from the American Folk Art Museum (MAPA) to the Universidad de Chile’s Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) in 1981, exhibitions had to turn into itinerant exhibitions, and where in places such as O’Higgins Park, the chief magistrate lodge, and Kilip multi-library room. In the latter, Filemón Gonzalez, an artisan, exhibited Tallados en Madera (Wood Carving) in 1986.
